It rained almost the entire time Sean and I were in Halifax, but it seemed somehow appropriate for this maritime city. It certainly didn’t seem any less beautiful to me – but I like the rain. This was one place Sean had on his bucket list, so we made the most of it and used Halifax as our base for exploring Nova Scotia.
Even on a wet day, the bright colours of the harbourside made the place more joyful.
For me, this lovely boat moored at Queen’s Wharf conjured up memories of sea journeys in days gone by and, along with the paddle steamer moored at the other side of Cable Wharf, serves as a poignant reminder of days gone by.
On an island in the harbour, a lighthouse shines day and night to help both seafaring and pleasure vessels to navigate safely. Given some of the mist we experienced in Halifax, that’s a good thing.
